Brisbane Girls Social Club

Brisbane Girls Social Club

About Us

Hello ladies this is a social group for girls in their 20s and 30s (approximately). We currently have monthly meet ups, however, members are also welcome to create additional activities throughout the month. It's a great way to meet new people locally and from all over the world, with many different interests. Our monthly meet ups are planned to create a friendly casual atmosphere, in the local coffee shops all around Brisbane.

A little bit about the organisers:

Angie Godbee is currently studying her honours of psychology at the University of Queensland. Amanda Taylor is a Primary and Early Childhood teacher. We both love meeting new people and trying new activities.

We look forward to meeting you all at the next meet up.

Meet Some of the Girls

We now have over 150 lovely girls who have joined our group. Here is an introduction to some of our members :o)

Angie Godbee (Organiser)
A little about me
I am 27 and originally from Brunswick Heads. I am currently about to start my last year of a psychology degree and am finding it difficult to find time to get out and meet new people and catch up with the good friends I do have. So I have decided to organise a cafe meet every month to bring everyone together to meet new people and make new friends.
I enjoy most activities from movies and diners to being outdoors going to the beach or camping. I really look forward to meeting new people from all different walks of life.
I look forward to meeting you all :o)

Amanda Taylor (Organiser)

Hi ladies! I met a lot of you in the last meet but thought i'd introduce myself to the new members too. I am 27 and just graduated from a Teaching degree in Early Childhood and Primary education. I live on the north side in Bracken Ridge and am getting hitched in August this year - where our Feb meet is actually. I have recently gotten right into fitness. I attend bootcamp as often as possible and did the 10k bridge to Brisbane last year and am doing the Spartan race this year Angie and I used to run another social group together which I really enjoyed but got too busy to continue planning so I was wrapped to find out she started it again - meeting new people is so exciting I love talking about travel (and doing it of course), catching up for coffees and doing just about anything really! I look forward to meeting you all and am super excited for Febs meet:)

Sarah Hufnagel

I'm an American making her home in Brisbane (going on four years now!) studying justice and corporate systems at QUT, graduating in 2015 with the aim to stay on as a resident. I'm a lover of doctor who and novels of all sorts, and recently got a dog (he's about 14 months now :) )

Jesse
My name’s Jess, and I’m a happy, energetic, stay-at-home wife, who is in the midst of starting new businesses. I love all things pretty, enjoy eating and <3 <3 all things food. The greatest thing in life is to be happy and I work hard on ensuring I’m happy… and succeed most of the time ;)
Hope to meet you and the other ladies all soon!! :D

Rachael  Brumley

Hi! I'm Rachael but I prefer to be called Rach. I'm 29, turning 30 in April and terrified as I only feel about 23! I have been unwell recently and am unable to work or study, so I am stuck at home most of the time, living on sickness benefits means I can't afford to get out too often, so I am hoping to meet new people and make new friends this way! My hobbies are reading, writing, movies, music and community theatre. I'm generally pretty cheerful, I tend to like everybody no matter what, and I like to do arty, crafty type things as well. As you can see from my photo, exercise is not my forte, but I am trying to lose weight so I go to the gym 3 times a week and I also belong to a choir that I go to once a week. If there's anything you want to know about me, just ask! I am an open book and no question will offend me, I promise!
Oh yeah, as well as having no job or degree, I also have no partner and no children :P So my life is on a bit of a downward swing at the moment, but I am trying my best to reverse that! :)

Cheryl  Tan

I am an international student currently studying in UQ. I come from Singapore and enjoy exploring new cafes and going for brunches and outings on weekends with new people and making new friends.

Erica Gould

Hi I am Erica, a 34 year Brissie local. I love making the most of the weekends and getting out and about with friends. I am into lots of outdoor sports, photography, cooking and socialising!

Sarah Forsyth

About me: 31 single, plenty of time to burn, gov job in the city, I started stand up paddle boarding with my dog Benson recently to get out, I make beaded earrings etc for fun and go to markets with them, back studying my masters in GIS (mapping and stuff), I don't drink coffee but will cope and want to meet new people and potentially make other friends. My friends are very dear to me but from different groups and parts of my life and have many babies/husbands too which can be the biggest hand break.  I'm a late starter but have the bestest dog suited for me. I camp, shop, love dressing up and crazy road trips...
It was odd for me to do this but I'm up for a change and it sounded like a fun idea and I'm glad someone got out and brought this about... whatever comes of it.

Megan Van Dyk

I like to do a lot of things, walks, gym, movies, dinning out and just general conversation... I work full time on different shifts every day but I'm free on the weekends. I'll like to meet people from different contries and cultures.. I find it amazing all different point of views.
Hope yo see soon..

Carina Gucci
Hi Ladies.. I'm Carina, 28 and I live on the south side. I love meeting new people and recently realised that my current group of friends are all sort of moving in different directions. I also realised that it's kind of hard to make completely new friends other than those I already have some sort of connection with.
I love cooking, reading, eating out and trying new things - especially if they take me a little out of my comfort zone.
Look forward to meeting you all!

Rachel Puckeridge

Hi girls! My name is Rachel, 25 and I live in Richlands with my husband. We don't have any pets or kiddies - though we would like a few of both! I love to travel & knit! Lol! I like picnics, dinner out and experiencing new things! I'm looking forward to meeting you all on Saturday!

Cerise Christiansen

Hi everyone, I'm Cerise, 29 and I live at Durack in south-west Brisbane with my husband Ben and our 13 month old daughter Isla. I'm originally from Scotland so yes have a funny accent and have been living and and working around Australia for 8 years now. Ben is in his final stage if applying for the police and I gave up my admin job last year to look after Isla though I need to get my social life back!
I enjoy cooking (and follow a paleo lifestyle) reading factual books, watching documentaries, trips to the beach, picnics in the park and eating out.
